After the implementation of the National Security Law in Hong Kong, all civil servants are required to sign a “Declaration of Allegiance”, otherwise they will be dismissed.
As of April 1, 129 civil servants have ignored or explicitly refused to sign the declaration, including 16 members of the disciplined forces (including the police, fire, immigration, customs, correctional services and other five major departments). (including police, fire, immigration, customs and correctional services).
Among these refusers, 25 have resigned or left their posts, one has been dismissed, and all others will be ordered to retire.
