Darian Jarrott, a New Mexico State Police officer, stopped the vehicle driven by ex-convict Koua in February this year and was shot and killed with an AR-15 rifle. The video of the crime was uploaded to a YouTube channel dedicated to documenting police actions on the 11th.
The police car recorder can see, ex-convict Cueva (Omar Felix Cueva) will pickup truck parked on the side of the road, Jarrett alert first went to the passenger side of the car window, asked Cueva to get out of the car to be examined, Cueva through the dead end of the view with a rifle to leave the vehicle, unawares to Jarrett shot a gun.
After Jarrott was shot and fell to the ground, Kuva then fired several shots, including a close range shot aimed at the back of the head, before driving away.
About a minute later, U.S. Department of Homeland Security officers arrived at the scene to inform police of the status of the shooting. Arriving officers began a pursuit along I-10 in Luna County. Finally, after a police chase of nearly 65 miles, a shootout erupted with Kuva, who was subsequently shot and killed.
Other officers began pursuing the vehicle along I-10. At one point, the man stopped, shot at the officers, and then fled again. As the vehicle entered Las Cruces, it struck a spike strip and a Las Cruces officer then performed a precise immobilization technique that successfully stopped the pickup truck.
After the pickup truck was forced to stop, the suspect opened fire on the Las Cruces police officer as soon as he got out of the vehicle, injuring the officer. The responding officers then returned fire, killing the suspect.
Police said Cueva had a violent criminal record and was also involved in cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking. The crime was committed that day as he was preparing to travel to Las Cruces for a drug deal.
Police officer Jarrott leaves behind three children, and his fourth child is expected to be born this year.
