Since last Friday (April 2), there has been a domestic boycott and counter-boycott around election reform in Georgia. Following former President Donald Trump’s (R-TX) lead in pushing back against the baseball league, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced that she will no longer watch the league’s games.
On Friday, the pro-left Major League Baseball (MLB) kicked off a boycott and counter-boycott confrontation by announcing that it was pulling its All-Star Game from Joe State. For the second day in a row, Trump issued a statement condemning the radical left’s use of boycotts in recent years to exert economic pressure and achieve political goals.
On Saturday, RNC Chairman Mike Daniels also spoke out publicly in response to MLB’s decision to pull its All-Star Game from Atlanta, Jo. In a tweet, she said, “Guess what I’m doing today? Not watching baseball!!!!”
McDaniel’s statement was an echo of Trump’s call for a boycott of MLB.
In a statement on Friday, Trump said baseball has lost a large number of fans and now they are leaving Atlanta with the All-Star Game because they are afraid of radical left-wing Democrats. He called on conservatives to boycott baseball and all major corporations that interfere with fair elections.
McDaniel also posted a tweet on Friday evening condemning Democrats for trying to destroy election reform in the Joe State. She said Biden and the Democrats are shamelessly spreading lies against the Joe State election bill, which actually expands voting access.
The Republican-controlled Georgia House passed an election reform bill a week ago and it was signed into law by the governor. The bill enhances election security, including eliminating no-excuse absentee voting and verifying voter identification. But on the day the bill passed, Biden went on record criticizing it, and MLB was one of the first large entities to pressure Joe State financially.
