Breitbart News reports that the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has created the position of chief of diversity and inclusion, the first chief of the person who issued the Black Trump comment comparing Trump to Hitler.
On Thursday, U.S. Special Operations Command hired Richard Torres-Estrada in a release, “Welcoming our first Chief of Diversity and Inclusion, we look forward to his efforts to enhance the command’s capabilities and effectiveness through diversity of talent and to help us recruit the best talent. “
After the announcement of Tris Escha’s hiring, past social media posts from him went viral.
A Facebook account that appears to belong to Tris Escha posted a photo of then-President Trump on June 2, 2020, alongside a photo of Hitler, both holding a Bible in their right hands, with the caption, “I’m leaving the Bible behind and slowly retiring to continue working from Home.” In the background, President Trump holds up a Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., after fires were set by Black Lives Matter protesters.
Tris Escha, on July 8, 2020, posted another Black Trump picture with Trump’s former advisers’ criticism of Trump written all over a picture of Trump with his eyes closed, which Tris Escha listed with the caption, “This one I have to post. “
On Feb. 19 of this year, Tris Escha sent out pictures taking shots at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Contacted by Breitbart News on Friday afternoon, a spokesman for Special Operations Command, Breitbart News asked, “Why was Tris Escha hired as director of diversity and inclusion when his position may be seen as partisan for members of the pro-Trump military and Special Operations Command, and has Special Operations Command issued a statement in this regard?”
A spokesperson for Special Operations Command responded, “We are aware of the allegations and we are currently investigating them.”
Retired U.S. Army Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joe Kent, who spent more than 20 years in special operations and completed 11 combat deployments, Kent criticized the appointment of Tris Escha. Kent tweeted, “Tris Escha’s placement in U.S. Special Operations Command was not an accidental mistake.”
Kent added, “The left is not hiding the fact that they are in control, that they have the ability to purge those who disobey …… This is one of the reasons so many military leaders are tweeting and taking political sides, they are pledging their loyalty to the new order and setting aside their ties to the old order.”
Kent added: “Special operations forces are heavily right-leaning, which is why, with the Biden team explicitly putting this monitor at Special Operations Command, the warning is less subtle. Special Operations Forces, while right-leaning, will serve the United States honorably regardless of the party affiliation of the president of the United States.”
Mike Egan, a Green Beret veteran and Trump Administration official, also weighed in on Tris Escha’s appointment. He tweeted, “Special Operations Forces is a meritocracy. Any shortcomings will undermine the effectiveness of Special Forces. Egan added, “To add insult to injury, a politically aware DoD is using this clown to fill this unnecessary position. Tris Escha’s most relevant work experience is having worked in the ever unreliable transit system.” This is a reference to the fact that Tris Escha has worked for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in the past.
