Breitbart News reports that on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which aired Friday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Mich.) questioned the trend of “political capture” of the U.S. military. Gaetz said the U.S. military is the last part of the federal government that is not controlled by the left.
Congressmen Austin Scott and Scott DesJarlais have both stood up for our military,” Gaetz said. But the problem with us Republicans is that instead of standing tall and seeing far, we’ve allowed ourselves to be lulled into these concepts of gender, equality, inclusiveness.”
Gates continued, “Now we’re seeing the Department of Defense engaging in political hang-ups, and the reason for that is that the left has long controlled the Justice Department, the FBI and the State Department, and now they’re eyeing the Department of Defense, the last bastion of conservative preservation, and the left is trying to stifle the right in the military by monitoring the military’s social media. What’s troubling to me right now is that Congress is currently focused on whether the U.S. military is politically hung or not in the discussion about the U.S. military, but they are not focused on whether the U.S. military has a fighting chance.”
