Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis U.S. governor: She’s the worst choice

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said after learning that President Biden had asked Vice President Harris to solve the U.S.-Mexico border crisis, Harris was the “worst choice” to do it. The former Speaker of the House Gingrich said that Biden was too smart to throw the hot hand to Harris.

Ducey told reporters in Tucson on Wednesday, March 24, that the choice of Harris to handle the border crisis was evidence that Biden didn’t care about it. He believes that Harris will only receive an empty title and will not do anything real about it.

Biden said Tuesday, March 23, that he has asked Harris to lead his administration to deal with the problems on the southern border. Biden said Harris would oversee a joint effort by the U.S. government and countries such as Central America and Mexico to stop the growing influx of migrants into the United States.

Later, in a speech at the University of Arizona, Ducey said, “She (Harris) is probably the worst choice (Biden) ever made.” “There is no indication in her career that she sees the border as a problem or a serious threat.”

He noted that Harris was a senator from California. And she has previously made clear that she does not consider the border a “problem or a serious threat” to the United States.

Harris was asked by reporters whether she would go to the border, and suddenly burst out laughing, before joking, “Not today.” (Not today) She was criticized for that.

Ducey said, “If President Biden is going to show that he’s taking this seriously, then he has indeed made the exact opposite decision.”

Harris called the border situation “challenging,” according to the Los Angeles Times. Former advisers to Harris said they believe Harris is ready for the challenge, but called the job “high risk, low reward.

Biden announced the decision after a delegation of White House officials and members of Congress traveled to the southern border and visited a facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas. The facility detains more than 750 juvenile illegal immigrants.

The Biden Administration has moved in recent weeks to open more than 10,000 new beds at various conference centers and former oil field camps in southwestern border cities, among other locations.

The Biden administration notified Congress on Wednesday, March 24, that it will open a new 3,000-person facility in San Antonio and a 1,400-person site at the San Diego Convention Center. Homeland Security (HHS) also opened a second base in Carrizo Springs and on Wednesday received approval from the Department of Defense to begin housing juvenile illegal immigrants at military bases in San Antonio and El Paso, Texas.

Republican lawmakers say the Biden administration’s decision to roll back Trump-era immigration policies has prompted a surge in immigration.

Gingrich: Biden smart to throw hot potato to Harris

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) told Fox’s “Ingraham View” on Wednesday, March 24, that the United States is experiencing a “peaceful invasion” of the southern border.

Gingrich said, “On the eve of the press conference, Biden was smart enough to turn it (the hot border issue) over to her (Vice President Harris). So for every query about the border tomorrow, he can say, ‘That’s Vice President Harris’ job, you need to talk to her, next question.'” “In that sense, he’s no longer responsible for everything that’s not a crisis but a disaster. And this is going to get worse.”

Gingrich also predicted to host Laura Ingraham that, judging by the current trend of the crisis, it seems likely that by summer more than a million illegal immigrants will have been resettled. And they have to be fed and clothed on the taxpayers’ dime.

He also said 92 percent of Hispanics want everyone entering the U.S. to be tested for the coronavirus, but many illegal immigrants and asylum seekers are reportedly released into the U.S. after being arrested, mostly without proper testing.

“We do all these tests at the airports, but under Biden’s border policy, people can come in here (without testing),” Gingrich added, “and the poorest class of people in America, their wages are going to be vulnerable to this competition …… and every taxpayer is going to be hit. Because we’re going to provide housing, Food, Education, and then we’re going to provide health care to these people. We’re taking on …… billions of dollars in additional costs.”

He said, “If you’re not going to build a border wall, then you’re going to build a lot of dormitories. It’s a very simple equation.”

Gingrich also predicted that Harris would simply communicate to the public “how wonderful things are on the border” and say, “Trust me, it’s OK.”

He argued that Harris’ future does not depend on what happens at the border, “her future depends on what happens at the White House.”
