The Gateway Pundit reports that Biden threatened Thursday that a tyrannical Communist viral blockade could be needed again if “conditions change. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) called the idea of another blockade “crazy” and “totally unacceptable. He also vowed that Florida would not be blockaded.
According to Newsweek, Biden said a new Communist blockade could emerge if efforts to contain the virus fail, but Florida Governor DeSantis rejected Biden’s warning, calling the prospect “insane.
Biden said last night that they might implement more blockades in the future, and I can tell you that in Florida, there will be no blockade, and we will not let Biden blockade Florida,” DeSantis said at a news conference Friday. I know they talked about restricting travel for Floridians, and that’s totally unacceptable.”
DeSantis went on to say, “Any kind of blockade is just too crazy to think about, so a blockade is not going to happen in Florida. We love the fact that people are able to continue to go to work in Florida …… We’ll continue to do what works, but under no circumstances will we consider doing any blockade.”
In the past year, Florida has also had a lower rate of population virus infections than the two lockdown states of New York and California without an outbreak lockdown. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that a year after the virus hit the U.S., sunny Florida appears to have weathered the outbreak better than other places like New York and California. between Nov. 1 and Feb. 28, New York had 5.8 new cases per 100 people, California had 6.4, and Florida had only five. The difference is that businesses in Florida can keep running at full capacity, while the lockdown in New York and California has severely impacted the local economy.
Florida’s economy shrank by 3.7 percent in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. During the same period, California’s economy shrank by 4.9 percent, while New York’s economy shrank by 8 percent.
