On Friday night, Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” warned that the Chinese Communist Party‘s global and U.S. influence is on the rise, an issue being ignored by his own Democratic Party. Maher warned that the United States is currently focusing too much attention on cultural issues like political correctness, distracting from more pressing issues, and that China’s dominance is growing right now.
HBO, the pay cable and satellite syndication network, is owned by Warner Media.
In his Friday night monologue, Maher said, “A stupid nation cannot win the battles of the 21st century. Americans are a stupid people. You know who cares the least about the stereotypical portrayal of the Chinese in Dr. Seuss’ children’s books? It’s the Chinese. 1.4 billion of them don’t condemn Tiger Moms because they are not a stupid nation. They’re as serious as a prison fight.”
He said, “The CCP will not be swayed by cultural issues, which are often a staple of the establishment media and the political left. The Chinese Communist Party is eating Americans’ lunch. Believe me, in an hour, they will be hungry again and wanting more.”
Breitbart News reported that Biden famously dismissed the CCP threat during the Democratic primary, declaring it “not a competition” for the United States. However, Biden also changed his tone last month, telling lawmakers that the Communist Party would “eat our lunch” if the U.S. did not adequately address infrastructure issues.
Maher argued on the show that “there has to be an intermediate product between an authoritarian government that tells everyone what to do and a representative government that can’t do anything.”
