Poll: 88% of Republican voters approve of Trump’s term of office work

Two months after former President Donald Trump (Trump) left office, overwhelming support for him among Republican voters remains undiminished. A new poll shows that 88 percent of Republican voters approve of Trump’s presidency.

According to a poll obtained by The Hill (The Hill) on December 12, Trump received a favorable rating from 81 percent of Republican voters. Meanwhile, 88 percent of voters said they approve of the job Trump is doing as president. The poll was conducted by a polling company led by Fabrizio, who has provided polling services for Trump’s 2020 campaign.

The poll also showed that among potential candidates for the Republican challenge to the 2024 presidency, Trump has the support of 51 percent of Republican voters, while no other potential candidate has broken into double digits.

Former Vice President Mike Pence (Mike Pence) ranked second with 9% support, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (Ron DeSantis) with 7% support, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (Nikki Haley) received 6% support, Utah Senator Mitt Romney (Mitt Romney) 5%, Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) had a 3 percent approval rating.

And in potential races not including Trump, Pence and DeSantis have 19 percent and 17 percent support, respectively, with Cruz (R-Texas) moving into double digits with a 13 percent score.

The latest poll shows that Trump continues to receive overwhelming support from the Republican base following the Jan. 6 congressional riots, although his national approval rating has slipped.

“President Trump continues to wield enormous influence within the Republican Party,” Fabrizio wrote in the survey.

Although the battle for 2024 has begun to unfold among potential contenders, Pence has kept a low profile since January, only breaking his silence earlier this month.

DeSantis, who has won praise for his strong policies in dealing with the Communist virus outbreak and his refusal to shut down Florida, has seen a rapid rise in support within the Republican Party. a poll released on March 1 showed DeSantis’ approval rating at 53 percent, significantly higher than the 45 percent he received in July.

The Fabrizio poll was conducted from Feb. 20 to March 2 among 1,264 Republican voters and has a margin of error of +/-2.76 percent.
