Suspicions of sexual harassment continue to grow, the sixth woman came forward to accuse Cuomo salty hands

Another woman has come forward to accuse New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment.

AFP reported that Cuomo, a Democrat, said he was “not aware” of the new allegations and reiterated that he would wait for the results of an independent investigation into the sexual harassment allegations before talking about next steps. The investigation is being overseen by New York State Attorney General Letitia James.

In a video briefing shortly after the latest allegations came to light, Cuomo said, “Let the investigation set the record straight and we’ll make a decision then.”

The Times Union of Albany, New York’s capital, reported that the latest accusation was made by an unnamed member of the governor’s staff, and that the incident took place at Cuomo’s residence last year.

The Times Union said the woman did not file a complaint, but her allegations were sent to the governor’s legal department and the New York State Attorney General’s office.

Cuomo has served as New York’s chief for 10 years, with his term ending in 2022, and today’s latest sexual harassment allegations further weaken his governorship.

Cuomo, once widely praised for his handling of New York State’s new crown Epidemic, has fallen from grace over the sexual harassment, with Republicans and victims of sexual harassment urging him to resign.

Republican state lawmakers have launched impeachment proceedings in the Democratic-majority New York State Assembly, but the chances of success are difficult to determine. A simple majority in the state Assembly and a 2/3 majority in the state Senate is required for impeachment to pass.
