Xi warns of China’s unstable security situation “The whole army should be ready to deal with complex situations at any time”

Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping warned Tuesday that the current security situation in China is unstable and uncertain, and that the entire military should coordinate the relationship between construction and preparation for war, be ready to deal with various complex and difficult situations at any Time, and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests.

According to the official Xinhua News Agency, Xi Jinping attended the plenary session of the delegation of the PLA and the Armed Police Force at the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress on the same day, also stressed that this year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the whole army should adhere to the war to lead the construction, strengthen the coordination of the war construction, to promote strategic, leading and basic major projects, and accelerate the creation of a high level of strategic deterrence and joint warfare system.

Xi Jinping has repeatedly and publicly emphasized the expansion of military preparedness since he took power in 2012, including the rocket army establishment, militarization of man-made islands in the South China Sea, and the recent threat of force against Taiwan‘s implementation of warplane patrols and other threats, raising concerns about the regional security situation. According to a report on the draft central and local budgets submitted by China’s Ministry of Finance to the National People’s Congress for consideration recently, China plans to arrange defense spending of more than 1.3 trillion yuan in 2021, up 6.8 percent year-on-year.
