Reuters: EU seeks to buy Moderna new crown vaccine for less than $25 per dose

Reuters, Nov. 16 (Reuters) – The European Union’s executive committee hopes to reach a deal with Moderna that would see the company supply millions of doses of a new crown vaccine candidate to the European Union for less than $25 per dose, an EU official involved in the negotiations said.

Moderna said on Monday that its experimental neo-crown vaccine was 94.5 percent effective in preventing neo-crown virus, based on preliminary data from a late-stage trial, becoming the second U.S. drugmaker to report much better results than expected.

An internal European Union document seen by Reuters shows that the EU has been in talks with Moderna about an experimental neo-crown vaccine since at least July.
