Boeing 737 MAX airliner failure again American Airlines captain shut down the engine emergency landing

American Airlines confirmed on the 5th, the number 2555 airliner suspected of mechanical failure, after shutting down an engine, an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport (NewarkLiberty International Airport ), but fortunately the flight landed safely, 95 passengers and six crew members on board all safe.

Reuters reported that the Boeing 737 MAX passenger plane was taking off from Miami, Florida, to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, but the captain found that the plane may have mechanical problems when the temporary decision to shut down an engine.

American Airlines said the incident may have been related to a slip oil pressure gauge or fuel gauge, and not to the Maneuvering Characteristic Gain System (MCAS) that previously grounded the aircraft for 20 months. Boeing is now aware of the incident, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be involved in the investigation.

In fact, there have been two fatal airline crashes involving Boeing 737 MAX aircraft: the 2018 Lion Air crash in Indonesia (189 people died) and the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines crash (157 people died). American Airlines is the first U.S. airline to resume flying this type of aircraft after a series of safety upgrades by U.S. authorities.
