Military spending has increased for years, and the Communist Party’s budget this year is 6.8 percent higher than last year

According to a budget report from the Ministry of Finance released today (March 5), the Communist Party of China’s defense budget spending is up 6.8 percent from last year.

The fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress opened at 9 a.m. on March 5 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. According to Xinhua’s text transcript, Li Keqiang said today in his government report about the CPC’s military work that it will comprehensively strengthen military training and preparation for war.

After Li Keqiang’s work report, according to the government’s draft budget report released by the Ministry of Finance, the CPC defense budget for this year is RMB 1 trillion 355.3 billion, an increase of 6.8% over last year, higher than last year’s 6.6% growth, and has exceeded RMB trillion for five consecutive years.
