Two N.H. Democrats Arrested for Mail-in Ballot Violations

NBC New York reports that New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced at a news conference Wednesday that two members of the Paterson (N.J.) City Council have been indicted for allegedly interfering in last year’s special election.

Paterson, the capital of New Jersey’s Passaic County, is New Jersey’s third-largest city with a population of 150,000.

Paterson City Council Vice Chairman Michael Jackson, 49, is one of two Democrats facing charges. The other person charged is council member Alex Mendez, 46. Supporters believe Mendez will use his victory in this City Council race to launch a bid for the mayor’s office. But both men are fighting to stay out of jail in their immediate efforts.

Jackson, who finished second on the Paterson City Council, is now being charged with election irregularities by New Jersey’s attorney general, and Mendez has been charged with six election problems, and both could face at least decades in prison if convicted on the ballot issue.

Mendez, a Democrat, won a special election last May 12 and made it to the city council, but election irregularities were soon revealed. Four Democrats on the Paterson City Council were arrested last June on charges of election irregularities, but they refused to step down, including the two Democrats charged this Time. Ultimately, a judge ordered a new election last November. Despite the pending criminal charges, Mendez won a close race in November.

President Trump cited this June case in a lawsuit aimed at trying to invalidate the New Jersey mail-in ballot.

The two Democrats collected mail-in ballots and mailed them in bundles. Postal Service inspectors said hundreds of mail-in ballots were found in a mailbox somewhere in Paterson, along with bundles of mail-in ballots scattered in nearby areas. Some residents said they had never received a ballot, but records showed someone had voted in their name. The New Jersey attorney general’s office launched the investigation after receiving complaints.

The indictment filed last month charges Mendez and Jackson with multiple counts, including election irregularities, unauthorized possession of ballots and falsifying or tampering with public records. The state attorney general’s office alleges the two men collected ballots from voters and gave them to county officials, which candidates are prohibited from doing.

The Gateway Pundit said this is what the Democrats have done, and this is another scam perpetrated by the Democrats. Rigging behind the scenes of an election is really the only way for the Democrats to win.
