Deng Cullin, the former public security director of Chongqing, was indicted, Caixin reported on Feb. 26. News from the official website of the Supreme Prosecutor said that the case of Deng Cullin, former deputy mayor of Chongqing and former director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, who was suspected of taking bribes, was completed by the State Supervisory Commission and designated by the Supreme Prosecutor to be examined and prosecuted by the Baoding City Procuratorate in Hebei Province. Recently, the Baoding Procuratorate has filed an indictment to the Baoding Central Court.

Deng Cullin was accused of taking bribes for more than 20 years. The prosecution alleges that Deng used his position as deputy director of the Planning and Finance Department of the Hubei Provincial Township Enterprise Administration, director of the Hubei Provincial Economic Commission Office, deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Economic Commission, deputy mayor of Yichang, standing committee member of the Yichang Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Public Security Department, head of the Anti-Secession Guidance and Coordination Office of the Central Political and Legal Committee, director of the Central Political and Legal Committee Office, deputy mayor of Chongqing, director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, etc. The government should be held criminally responsible for accepting bribes for the purpose of obtaining benefits for others in the areas of business operation, special number plates, and job promotion and adjustment.
