Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen revealed in a speech on Saturday morning (20) that the 32 new confirmed cases of CCP pneumonia there are all Chinese nationals, hoping that Cambodian people will not look at Chinese and Phnom Penhites with discrimination.
The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia criticized that a few Chinese citizens who were tested for the disease had deliberately hid and avoided quarantine treatment, and called on citizens to comply with local Epidemic prevention regulations.
Local media reported that Cambodia recently had its third outbreak of community cluster infection, with 28 cases confirmed on Friday night (19) and four more on Saturday morning at the N8 nightclub. One of the 32 confirmed patients, a Chinese woman, reportedly fled from a quarantined hotel after learning she was infected. The local government is still searching for people who had contact with the N8 nightclub.
Hun Sen stressed that if the authorities act quickly, it is expected that the epidemic can be effectively controlled within one month at the earliest, but it is not ruled out that the whole Time will be lengthened; the local Ministry of health and local government will continue to work hard to do a good job in preventing the epidemic.
