New CEO Meckler: Welcome Trump to Parler Platform

After being taken offline by Amazon and other big tech for more than a month, social media platform Parler officially relaunches on Feb. 15, 2021. Pictured is interim CEO Mark Meckler.

Mark Meckler, interim chief executive officer (CEO) of social media Parler, says former President Trump (Trump) is welcome on the platform. Just a few weeks ago, the former commander-in-chief of the U.S. Army was blocked or suspended from his accounts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites owned by the tech giant.

In an interview with Fox News about the former president, Meckler said, “He’ll be just as welcome on the platform as anyone else.” “We welcome all political views.”

Listening to the news.

Meckler said, “If Donald Trump wants to come here and engage in a free discussion, he’ll be welcome on this platform.” He also said he disagreed with Twitter’s decision (to block Trump).

He went on to say that Trump had not said “anything illegal” on Twitter or elsewhere. And he added that President Joe Biden was also welcome to join.

Meckler revealed that neither he nor anyone at Parler had spoken to Trump or his company.

Meckler also said he believes Parler will return to Apple’s App store. Apple took Parler’s app down from its app store in mid-January, while Google also took the app down from Google Play.

Regarding the Google Play store, Meckler said, “We’re not interested in working with Google.” Adding that they are “anti-freedom of speech. He said that for those who use Android phones, they can “side-load” their devices.

In an interview with Fox News this week, he said, “The site is back up and running, and we’re very excited about the return of 21 million users.” He added, “There are still some minor issues.”

The company has announced the re-launch of its social media Parler server service after Amazon Web Services shut it down. in a press release, Parler said it will use artificial intelligence programs and human editors to investigate statements on the platform that violate the terms of the service agreement.

Meckler was named interim CEO of the company a few weeks ago after his predecessor, John Matze, was fired from Parler. Matze said a few weeks ago that he did not want to deal with Trump if he joined Parler.

“I don’t like the idea of working with Trump because he might bully people inside the company to do what he wants to do,” Mraz said on HBO’s “Axios.” “But I’m worried that if we don’t sign on, he might retaliate and get his followers to leave Parler.”

In last month’s Parler lawsuit, the company said Amazon, which shut it out of the Web service, was primarily concerned about whether Trump would join Parler.

“Because the public generally expects that President Trump will join the Parler platform after his expulsion from Twitter, Parler’s valuation is likely to rise to billions of dollars soon,” Maz said in a court filing in January.
