Former Olympic swimmer arrested for being a drug cartel mastermind

Australia’s 45-year-old former national swimming Olympic representative Scott Miller and a 47-year-old man, suspected of being involved in a methamphetamine case worth 2 million Australian dollars (about 12 million Hong Kong dollars), were both arrested by police in their respective Sydney apartments on Tuesday (16).

Local police found methamphetamine in eight candles last month, the investigation suspected Miller is the mastermind of the drug cartel involved, directing others to distribute drugs in New South Wales province, describing the group as large, organized and well-funded.

Miller had won the silver medal in the men’s 100-meter butterfly and the bronze medal in the 4-by-100-meter medley relay at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA.
