Traditional Chinese New Year Accidents on the mainland Fires, explosions, rollovers…

In 2020, China has been plagued by natural and man-made disasters, epidemics, floods, locusts, droughts, frosts …… Just after the traditional Chinese New Year, various accidents have occurred frequently across China, which is heavy-hearted.

A netizen posted a video message on Twitter disclosing that a gas explosion occurred today (Feb. 13, the second day of the Lunar New Year) in the town of Yunlian, Yibin, Sichuan. The video shows that the scene is a mess, shattered glass, explosive items scattered all over the ground, some things are still burning.

According to the land media “Sichuan Online”, the explosion occurred at about 9:05 that day, the cause of the accident was initially judged to be improper use of natural gas, the specific cause is under further investigation. The explosion caused Liu 1 person was injured.

February 12 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), Changsha City, Hunan Yinbailing Bridge, a private car out of control broke through the guardrail and fell into the river. The picture shows that the crane is lifting the car.

On the same day, a private car fell into a deep ditch on the roadside in the South Rangtang Forest Park in Handan, Hebei Province. During the rescue process, the crane also rolled over into the ditch. There was a cry of alarm from the scene. As seen in the video, there are injured people being carried away in a hurry.

In the evening of February 11 (New Year’s Eve), a fire broke out in a scrap tire recycling plant in Berlung Town, Deyang City, Sichuan. The scene was thick smoke and fire.

In the evening of the same day, a fire also broke out near Qionglai Baolin Temple in Chongzhou City, Chengdu, Sichuan, which was reportedly caused by firecrackers. Some houses appear to have been completely burned.

Except for the gas explosion on the 13th, none of the above incidents have been officially reported, and the casualties are not known.

According to the “Free Times” today, the land media reported that in recent days, there are reports of children throwing firecrackers into manhole covers in many places in China, causing shock and even death to passersby. There are also reports of two children throwing firecrackers into a sewer in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, causing the road to collapse; a child throwing firecrackers into a bungalow in Changsha, Hunan Province, causing a fierce fire; two children setting off fireworks on a grassy area in Foshan, Guangdong Province, causing a scorched area of nearly 200 square meters; and someone setting off firecrackers on the roof of a car, causing a large number of sparks, damage to the car, and a large loss of blood in the owner’s wallet.

Just into the new year on the succession of various accidents, it is really lamentable.
