Zhao Lijian, the spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s “War Wolf“, was caught following Japanese former AV actress Aoi Air on Twitter on his second day in office on February 26 last year, and even left explicit messages under the erotic actress’ posts. Now his Twitter account has been revealed to be following a gay porn account, which has sparked a lot of controversy.
On Feb. 11, Zhao Lijian’s official Twitter account, @zlj517, followed a gay porn account called “qornograficx”, which was spotted by a sharp-eyed foreign YouTuber who posted a video to satirize it.
The YouTuber is Winston Frederick Sterzel, who has lived in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, for 14 years and runs the channel “ADVChina”, which often discusses sensitive topics in China and raises concerns.
In the video, SerpentZA says, “What I found is that this gay porn Twitter account has among its followers the War Wolf diplomat Zhao Lijian, and it does. This is so funny, it’s not a fabrication, we saw it live. Yes, if I reload the interface, it says followed by Zhao Lijian, and you click on it, this is him, with the Twitter blue authentication tag, this is definitely him. He’s the guy who talks about the fake photos of Australian soldiers killing Afghan children. Yes, he really is a low quality person, we should say he’s a top war hero diplomat.”
The video has gone viral overseas and as of yet, Chinese officials and Zhao Lijian himself have yet to provide an explanation on the matter.
Commenting on the incident, one netizen said, “I think Zhao Lijian, a war-wolf diplomat, seems to have failed to learn the lesson of (former) Chinese Ambassador to the UK Liu Xiaoming.
Liu was caught by netizens in September last year liking a pornographic tweet about “foot sex in stockings,” prompting a torrent of mockery from netizens and even foreign political figures.
