Two injured in blast at Saudi cemetery commemorating WWI

A bomb attack at a cemetery in the Saudi port city of Jeddah yesterday morning marked the 102nd anniversary of the end of World War I, injuring two people.

The government of Saudi Arabia confirmed that the injured were a Greek consulate employee and a Saudi security officer. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The French, Greek, Italian, British and U.S. embassies issued a joint statement saying they strongly condemned the “cowardly attack” by a simple explosive device at a commemorative event.
