Netizens released a video showing that on the night of February 8, Wuhan residents sent off for Li Wenliang, originally using a whistle as agreed, but because there were not so many whistles, the people have opened the windows shouting to express their hearts. Netizens said: what a shock! Is it wailing, is it roaring, is it trembling? Is it hard to stop the sadness in the heart, or to beg for mercy from God, or to vent their anger?

The netizen who signed “The Power of Silence” posted: “The call of the Wuhan people in the darkness of the night sky was so shocking that it went straight to the clouds! Is it a wail, is it a roar, is it a tremor? Is it a cry of grief, a roar, a tremor? Is it a cry of grief, a cry for mercy, a cry of anger? No one can decipher the voice of thousands of people, which is perhaps the most unprecedented sound in human history.”

The video shows Wuhan residents opening their windows at night and shouting, one after the other, unable to hear exactly what they are shouting, but able to feel the hurt in their hearts after the tragic Epidemic a year ago.

According to comprehensive media reports, Li Wenliang posted in his circle of friends in December 2019 about a SARS-like pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan, but he was admonished by Wuhan police afterwards. Li Wenliang was diagnosed positive on Feb. 1, and his condition deteriorated rapidly thereafter, and he unfortunately died in the evening of Feb. 6 at the age of 34. The Chinese Communist Party officially stated that Li Wenliang died at 2:58 a.m. on Feb. 7. Li Wenliang’s death caused strong repercussions in China and abroad, and he was seen as a victim of the authorities’ suppression of freedom of expression and concealment of the epidemic.
