Fighting Back Mrs. Hawley Files Criminal Complaint Against Antifa

Erin Hawley, wife of Missouri U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (D), said Friday, Feb. 15, that she has filed criminal charges against Antifa, the organizer of a protest held outside her Home last month.

The Antifa organizer who harassed the Hawley Family has been charged with unlawful protest, ABC News reported Friday.

The incident occurred on the evening of Jan. 4, when the far-left Antifa group known as ShutDownDC held a march for about an hour in front of the Hawley residence in the District of Columbia. Video posted online shows the men shouting anti-Hawley slogans through megaphones. The group said their visit to Hawley’s home was “an hour-long warning” to “drop his (Hawley’s) baseless fight against the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

Hawley was reportedly in Missouri at the Time of the incident, but his wife Erin and young daughter were at home.

According to Fox News, protesters used bullhorns and wrote messages such as “Trump (Trump) lost” on chalk. During this time, Erin opened the front door and asked the protesters to leave. She said, “We have neighbors and a child, thank you.” But the protesters refused to leave. Irene recalled, “I was scared and closed and locked the door.”

In her statement of charges, Irene said, “I was terrified because they they kept yelling, come out, come out!”

On Jan. 5, Sen. Hawley tweeted that his wife and young daughter had been threatened. But he also said, “Let me clarify one thing: My family and I are not intimidated by left-wing violence.”

However, Officer Juan Vazquez, a spokesman for the local police department, told the Star that “this is a minor incident.” He said, “Basically, we only got 1 call about some protest in front of a residence in our town …… The group was about 15 to 20 people.” No one from the ShutDownDC group was arrested at the time.

Sen. Hawley’s office told ABC that his family has received “a lot of threats to their lives, threats to be monitored by authorities” in recent weeks.
