Pompeo: Happy birthday to my commander-in-chief…

On Feb. 6, Pompeo tweeted: Happy birthday to my Commander-in-Chief, an armored soldier who benefited from your leadership. He also added the hashtag “ReaganBirthday”.

Ronald Wilson Reagan, born February 6, 1911, was the 40th President of the United States (1981-1989). One of the greatest presidents in the hearts of Americans.

On June 12, 1987, in a historic speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate on the border of East and West Berlin, President Reagan appealed to then General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev: “If you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek freedom, come to this door! Pompeo majored in mechanical engineering during his studies at the U.S. Military Academy, graduating at the top of his class in 1986. As a young Army armored officer, he led a tank platoon patrolling the East German border near the end of the Cold War.
