Biden’s China policy has key omissions, may be a big blunder

On Feb. 4, Biden gave a foreign policy speech in which he called the Chinese Communist Party “the most formidable competitor” and said he would directly address “the challenges posed by prosperity, security and democratic values” and “push back against China’s (CCP) attacks on human rights, intellectual property rights and global governance. intellectual property rights and global governance.”

Biden’s words were clearly not to the liking of the Chinese Communist Party, which was largely silent on Feb. 5, as if Biden’s speech did not exist. The CCP’s Foreign Ministry also strenuously avoided it. From Biden’s speech, it does not appear that there was any apparent softening of the CCP, but a key item was omitted, namely the pursuit of responsibility for the CCP’s concealment of the outbreak.

Biden also said he wants to maintain the U.S. leadership and unite with allies against the Chinese Communist regime, but if he cannot take the lead in holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable for concealing the Epidemic, the U.S. fears it will lose its leadership and find it difficult to unite with other countries. In the wake of the global outbreak, countries around the world are re-examining their relationship with the CCP, and the position Biden just articulated is not ahead of the curve. As yesterday’s history has shown, if the United States is not at the forefront of the fight against evil, it will not be able to retain its leadership position, and Biden’s goals will be difficult to achieve.

China’s Communist Party is forced to avoid it for now

Biden’s speech was not very tough and looked to back away from Trump‘s decoupling strategy, but it still made things difficult for the top brass of the CCP.

On February 2, Yang Jiechi shouted at the U.S., also setting a price, asking the U.S. to “refrain from conflict and confrontation” and not to treat the CCP as a major strategic competitor or talk about its persecution of human rights. Biden’s speech, however, both listed the CCP as its “most serious competitor” and sought to counter the CCP’s challenges, mentioning the CCP’s “attacks on human rights, intellectual property rights and global governance. Most of the bargaining chips offered by the Chinese Communist Party were overridden by Biden.

Although Biden did talk about cooperation, there was only one sentence, and the CCP could not make a move at all. On February 5, the first of four major U.S.-related news items on Xinhua’s Home page was “Foreign Ministry: U.S.-China Common Interests Far Outweigh Differences,” which only mentioned that at a press conference that day, the Chinese Foreign Ministry “was asked about its response to President Joe Biden’s recent China-related statements,” completely omitting the reporter’s question. The original words of the reporter’s question were completely omitted.

A Bloomberg reporter asked: In his speech, President Biden called China “the most serious competitor” of the United States, and that the United States will face the challenges China is posing to the United States on many issues, including economic, human rights and intellectual property rights violations. But Biden also said the U.S. is willing to cooperate with China when it is in the U.S. interest to do so. What is China’s response to these statements by President Biden?

The Communist Party media did not dare to reveal them, but simply copied Wang Wenbin’s answer, repeating the same old rhetoric and not responding to Biden’s speech at all. The top echelon of the CCP should not have reacted for a while yet, and the CCP Foreign Ministry and the party media could only pretend not to know. Xinhua’s second story was a protest against the U.S. ship’s crossing of the Taiwan Strait, the third still continued with “The Third in a Series of Comments on the Course of U.S.-China Relations – The Momentum of Economic and Trade Exchanges Cannot Be Stopped”, and the fourth story was the Trump impeachment. Biden’s speech was basically disappeared from the Chinese Communist Party media, and most Chinese people should not even know about it.

The Chinese Communist Party’s top brass was clearly defeated, but should also be somewhat pleased that Biden did not call the Chinese Communist Party the most threatening enemy, but only a competitor. Also, Biden’s failure to address the issue of accountability for the outbreak should be a temporary relief to the top brass.

Biden’s failure to mention accountability for the epidemic may be a major misstep

At last year’s UN General Assembly, Trump directly asked the UN to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for concealing the epidemic, but such a major topic did not appear in Biden’s all-encompassing foreign policy address.

Biden should not have ignored an issue as important as the epidemic. The epidemic has caused incalculable loss of Life and property in the United States and the West over the past year, and it is only right that the Chinese Communist Party should be blamed for concealing the epidemic, which is one of its greatest concerns in diplomatic conflicts. Biden’s failure to act as a world leader on this major issue, and simply not mentioning it, is the real weakness in Biden’s foreign policy.

The U.S. intelligence agencies should have been fully aware of the evidence that the Chinese Communist Party deliberately spread the virus and attempted to use the epidemic for hegemony, and it is unlikely that Biden could not have seen it. Although he did express his claims of confronting the Chinese Communist Party, he did not include the key item of accountability for the epidemic, effectively revealing a weak attitude or at least a lack of confidence.

Biden’s omission of accountability for the epidemic is not in the interest of the American people or their will. Is the United States going to stop here and willingly swallow the bitter fruit? The number of Americans who have died from the Communist virus has exceeded 460,000, and the economic losses are untold, so is this the way to go?

If the United States plays deaf and dumb on the epidemic, how can it win the approval of its allies and how can it still lead the world?

Why the United States became the world’s leader

Looking back at the real rise of the United States, the first Time was when it played the role of savior in World War II, defeating Nazi Germany in the European theater, while defeating Japanese militarism in the Pacific theater, it can be said that the United States saved the world, but of course it also paid for many young lives and gave huge gratuitous aid to various countries. If the United States had not stepped forward at that time, it would not have been able to become the world leader. In fact, before the outbreak of the Pacific War, the U.S. appeasement of Japan’s military expansion fueled Japanese militarism and was only woken up after Pearl Harbor.

Before World War II, the U.S. economy had risen in the world, but it was not really recognized politically by the nations, much less able to lead the world. It was in the life-and-death battle against evil that the United States served as the main force and was at the forefront, gaining worldwide support.

In the Cold War that followed for decades, the U.S. was also a leader, leading the West against the communist camp and, in the process, turning the Chinese Communist regime and eventually winning the Cold War. America’s tremendous contribution once again cemented its status as a world power.

Today, countries are learning from the pain of the plague and are waking up to the dangers of the Chinese Communist regime to the world. The United States likewise needs to relearn from the failure of its engagement policy and still needs to be at the forefront of confronting the Chinese Communist regime once again if the United States is to remain the world’s leader.

The Chinese Communist Party’s concealment of the epidemic has wreaked havoc on the world, and holding the Chinese regime accountable is the perfect opportunity for the United States to unite with its allies. If the U.S. abdicates such responsibility, it would be ceding the role of leader, and other countries will not wait for the U.S., but will instead show their heads, a process that has already begun.

Other countries may be overtaking the United States

At the Feb. 5 press conference at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the U.S. was only one topic of conversation, and more countries are putting pressure on the Chinese Communist Party.

A British Independent Television News reporter asked about the revocation of the license of the Communist Party’s CCTV International Television (CGTN) in the United Kingdom, and a Bloomberg reporter and a reporter from Canada‘s Globe and Mail followed suit, forcing Wang Wenbin to say that “China is led by the Communist Party” and that “as for the attributes of the Chinese media, the British side has always been clear”, he obviously messed up.

A reporter from the British Daily Telegraph also asked about Chinese Communist Spies using the official Chinese media as cover for their deportation from Britain, and Wang Wenbin could only try to evade and deny it.

The mainland media was set up to ask questions, trying to match the CCP Foreign Ministry’s rebuttal of the BBC’s report of systematic sexual abuse and mistreatment of women in Xinjiang. The Reuters reporter immediately asked how the Foreign Ministry would respond to the BBC’s claim that it was sticking to its reporting style. Wang Wenbin once again added to the problem by mentioning the traceability of the virus, adding that “the BBC has long maliciously attacked and discredited the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government in the ideological field”.

The Finnish broadcaster continued: Finnish Prime Minister Sanne Marin expressed serious concern about the BBC’s report on the abuse of Uighur women in “re-Education camps” in Xinjiang. Wang Wenbin is even more difficult to deal with.

AFP reporter asked: French President Macron said that there is a lack of information about the Chinese vaccine and that if the Chinese vaccine is ineffective, it could accelerate the mutation of the virus. No clinical data on any Chinese vaccine has been shared. This issue has thrown Wang Wenbin into confusion again.

Countries other than the United States are continuously pressuring the Chinese Communist regime in response to the Communist Party’s big outreach, concealment of the epidemic and human rights persecution, and in some ways are beginning to overtake the new U.S. administration’s position. If the U.S. fails to come to the forefront, or even act as a spectator, it may soon be overtaken by more countries, and the U.S. may not be in a position to be part of the subsequent Anti-Communist coalition.

Yesterday’s history is strikingly similar to today’s, in that evil may be able to prevail for a time, but not for an eternity. When Xi Jinping took over the reins, the Chinese Communist regime had already declined from its peak and the Chinese economy had lost momentum, but the Communist Party’s top brass was so insolent that it wanted to dominate the world. International isolation has led to a serious crisis of ruling legitimacy for the CCP ……

Just like the collapse of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, and the demise of the Axis powers, the decline and collapse of the Chinese Communist regime is a global trend. The United States needs to conform to the historical trend again in order to continue to lead the world; if the United States is willing to lag behind, it can only give up the position of leader. History waits for no one, and time waits for no one, and the choice may only be made overnight.
