Touching! Trump made a rare statement in support of the blocked celebrity host: this group of fans also includes me

Lou Dobbs, host of Fox News Media’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” has been canceled.

Former President Donald Trump has issued a rare statement in support of Lou Dobbs after Fox News Media abruptly canceled its popular show “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Friday (Feb. 5).

A Fox News representative said Friday that Dobbs’ show, which used to air twice a night at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. EST on the Fox Business Network, is airing for the last Time today.

Dobbs averaged about 300,000 viewers per show, the largest audience of any business news channel; however, his show was also a big money loser for the Fox Business Network because major advertisers feared retaliation and boycotts after going to commercial.

The show’s main audience is supporters of former President Donald Trump (Trump, Donald Trump).

Trump also issued a rare official statement from the former president’s office in support of Dobbs after learning of the development. “Lou Dobbs is great, now and in the past. No one loves America more than Dobbs. He has a large and loyal fan base that will be watching his next move, and that fan base includes me.” The statement reads.

Dobbs’ contract with Fox News, now 75, is reportedly not suspended, but he will likely not appear on the silver screen again. He may occasionally appear as a commentator on Fox News Channel in addition to his shows on the Fox Business Network.

“As we said in October, Fox News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans to introduce new grids as appropriate after the election, including on Fox Business,” a Fox News representative said in a statement. “This is part of the planned changes. A new 5 p.m. slot will be announced soon.”

The Fox network has reportedly been reevaluating its Fox News and Fox Business networks since the fall, undertaking a number of programming and host challenges in anticipation of new President Joe Biden‘s arrival in the White House.

Starting next week, Dobbs’ show will be replaced by another show, “Fox Business Tonight,” with hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman taking turns hosting and hosting the show, Fox News representatives said. Asman will take turns hosting and replacing Dobbs.
