Shanghai outbreak expands, Pudong New Area “fallen”

Yesterday (February 4), Shanghai officials informed that nucleic acid testing of relevant people in Pudong New Area was found to have “suspicious results”. Today, officials confirmed that there is a new confirmed case in Pudong and that it is in the same transmission chain as the previous cases, indicating that the outbreak in Shanghai has further expanded in scope.

The Shanghai Municipal health Commission today (February 5) reported that there was one new confirmed local case in Shanghai on February 4, 2021 from 0-24 hours. The case is resident in Pudong New Area and is a close contact of the confirmed case, which is in the same transmission chain as the 21 previous cases.

The confirmed case involves the following areas and places: No. 83 Xingaoyuan Phase I, Gaodong Town, Pudong New Area, Liying Photo Studio (No. 42 Gaobao Road), and Caijiao Post (No. 133 Gao She Road).

The actual number of confirmed cases is not yet known due to the CCP’s consistent concealment of the outbreak.

Currently, the first phase of Xingaoyuan neighborhood in Gaodong Town of Pudong New Area has been classified as a medium-risk area.

According to the mainland media Xinmin Evening News, there are about 3,500 residents in the district, and several entrances and exits to the district have been closed, with only the south gate left as the entrance for the delivery of supplies, with people only entering and not leaving.
