Anti-Trump “Lincoln Project” male founder involved in explicit sexual harassment of 21 young men

The New York Times on Sunday (Jan. 31) revealed that John Weaver, the 61-year-old co-founder of the Republican-run anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project, has been involved in using his position to sexually harass several young men over the past five years. The report interviewed 21 young men who alleged that Weaver had made invitations and jokes about sexual acts.

The report said Weaver worked for years as a Republican Party strategy analyst, during which Time he sent provocative online messages to young men interested in politics, suggesting that by having sex with him, he could help them with their political work. The New York Times investigation found that Weaver had told one person, “When we meet, I’ll spoil you. I’ll help you with advice, information, and pay the bills, no problem, as long as you give me physical help.”

Interviewee Trickle Miele, now 19, said she followed Weaver’s Twitter account when she was 14 and soon received messages from the other man. When Miele was 18, Weaver sent a message saying, “I want to come to Las Vegas, take you to dinner and drinks, and spoil you!” Weaver also asked Miller to send him photos of his body parts, which Miller described as frustrating and sad, and Kyle Allen, 23, said Weaver repeatedly asked about his weight, height and circumcision between 2016 and 2018, using explicit language to express his desire to meet. “The Lincoln Project responded with anger and fear at Weaver’s behavior, condemning him as a “predator, liar and abuser.
