Biden administration orders U.S. embassy to fly rainbow flag, appoints special envoy

Secretary of State Antony Blinken speaks at a State Department press conference on Jan. 27.

In a show of support for non-heterosexuals, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently announced that rainbow flags symbolizing non-heterosexual “pride” will be displayed at U.S. embassies around the world.

According to Out Front Magazine, a non-heterosexual magazine, Blinken has confirmed that the Biden administration will renew its commitment to protecting the rights of non-heterosexuals. In addition, he recently confirmed that the State Department will appoint a special envoy for non-heterosexual rights to fill the position that has remained vacant during the Trump presidency.

During his January 26 confirmation hearing for Secretary of State, Blinken confirmed that the Biden Administration will reverse the Trump-era ban on U.S. embassies flying rainbow flags in honor of LGBTQ (“lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and people who cannot identify their gender”) “Pride Month ” (June) ban. U.S. embassies around the world will raise the rainbow flag in June before President Trump issues the ban.

“Out Front Magazine” said that the non-heterosexual community is looking forward to the Biden administration, which has become the first U.S. president to publicly support the rights of non-heterosexual and transgender people, and believes that the Biden administration has started a new beginning of support for LGBTQ rights.

The report mentioned that Biden had officiated the wedding of two male White House staffers in 2016. Biden also gave the keynote address at the annual gala of the largest non-heterosexual lobbying group in the U.S. last fall.

Trump-era Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has established a “Commission on Gifted Rights” and released an investigative report. The report states that the Commission on Civil Rights made clear that the United States “needs to reexamine the concept of human rights and its role in U.S. foreign policy, that homosexuality and transgender equality are issues invented by politicians and bureaucrats, and that Marriage equality and reproductive rights are seen as divisive social and political controversies.

The report also addressed the fact that the Obama administration had issued a series of executive orders regarding the display of rainbow flags with non-heterosexual symbols, but the Trump Administration has rejected most such requests. And Blinken said he would reject the report, which was issued by the Gifted Rights Commission.

Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper released a list of flags allowed to be displayed on U.S. military bases in a memo last July, and the list did not include the LGBTQ rainbow flag.

Outsiders believe that the rhetoric of the non-heterosexual community can cause social disruption, with the brunt of the damage to families. According to the Associated Press, New York, New Jersey, Washington, Oregon and California already allow Parents to use the unspecified gender option on their newborn’s birth certificate, preventing parents from determining the sex of their newborn.
