Bu Xiaolin, chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, suddenly fainted while delivering the government work report.
Recently, during the opening of the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Inner Mongolia, autonomous region chairman Bu Xiaolin suddenly fainted while delivering his report. As of now, Bu Xiaolin has still not appeared publicly and was absent from the closing ceremony of the two sessions of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
On January 30, she was not present at the closing ceremony of the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress of Inner Mongolia, and on January 29, she was not present at the closing ceremony of the CPPCC session of Inner Mongolia.
So far, not only has Bu Xiaolin not appeared in public, but the Chinese Communist Party authorities have not given a statement about her sudden collapse and health condition.
Previously, on Jan. 26, images from a live broadcast on Inner Mongolia TV showed that during the opening ceremony of the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Bu Xiaolin was giving a report on the work of the government, when suddenly Bu Xiaolin’s speech sounded intermittent and finally broke off and fainted. Then, some officials sitting on the stage have got up to check, and the sound of commotion came from the scene. Immediately afterwards, the screen showed 5 or 6 staff members around the podium running up and dragging the fainted Bu Xiaolin away. After that, someone shouted “Quiet!” through a microphone. The live broadcast was interrupted.
Public information shows that the 62-year-old Bu Xiaolin, once in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government Office of the Legal Department, the Government Legal Bureau, also served as the Alashan League, the League Secretary, Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Standing Committee, the Minister of United Front Work and other positions.
Bu Xiaolin comes from a distinguished Family, with three generations of his grandchildren having served as chairman of the Inner Mongolia government. His grandfather Uranfu also served as Minister of the Central United Front Work Department, Vice Premier of the State Council, Vice Chairman of the State Council and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress; his father Buh also served as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
Hong Kong media had said that it was not known for the Time being whether Bu Xiaolin’s ill health was related to the stress caused by the textbook controversy.
In August last year, Inner Mongolia authorities demanded that local Mongolian-language schools use Chinese textbooks, sparking a massive “civil disobedience” campaign; students went on strike and Parents staged protest rallies, but were met with frantic repression.
