The United Kingdom ordered from 22 high-risk countries to enter the quarantine to stay in anti-epidemic hotels

The British government has mandated that all British nationals and British residents from the 22 countries on a “red list” that have been hit by a variant of the New Coronavirus must first be quarantined in special hotels.

According to Le Figaro, the “Chinese” or “Australian” quarantine measures were announced the day after the number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the United Kingdom broke the dangerous 100,000 mark. The UK government has reinforced its previously implemented negative PCR tests for NPV and the 10-day quarantine measures. The government now requires that anyone, whether British or with a UK residence permit, from one of the 22 countries on the “red list”, which have been devastated by the variant of NNV, must first stay in a government-designated hotel for this quarantine. These include many countries in South America, South Africa or Portugal. The United Kingdom has banned non-British people or those without residence permits from entering the country. Prime Minister Johnson told the House of Commons, “We will require that no one arriving in the UK is denied access to government-designated accommodation (such as hotels) for a 10-day self-quarantine, with no exceptions. The cost of this hotel self-quarantine will be borne by them, with accommodation plus three meals per day costing up to £1,500 (or €1,700).

The British quarantine, which requires all entrants to stay in hotels, is less than what some members of the government had previously intended to do or what the opposition parties had demanded. British Home Secretary Priti Patel even called for a complete closure of the border. She insisted: “It is clear that too many people are still coming in and out of our country every day.” So Britain will also tighten controls on departures. From now on, those wishing to leave the UK must be able to show proof of “exceptional reasons”. The British tourism industry is lamenting some of the government measures that have caused business to sink even further.
