The Arizona Republican Party passed a resolution on Saturday (23), publicly condemning Governor Ducey, former Senator Flake and the late senior Senator McCain’s wife, Cindy, for opposing former President Trump‘s overturning of the election results.
Analysis shows that the resolution has only symbolic significance, but reflects the serious division of the Republican Party in the state, and Trump’s loyal supporters still have strong power in the party.
The resolution criticizes Ducey’s use of emergency orders to shut down non-essential industries in the name of fighting the Epidemic, a move that violates the constitution and the exercise of “dictatorial” powers; Flake and Cindy were also named and rebuked for their support of Democratic Party’s Biden in last year’s election. Ducey’s advisors denounced the motion as a test of Trump’s loyalty.
The House of Representatives earlier passed the impeachment of Trump, 10 Republicans fell in support, they may face condemnation from their Home Republican Party, the party’s grassroots may challenge in the re-election. Analysis pointed out that this proves that Trump’s influence in the next two years of the Republican Party still has the dominant force.
