Japan’s epidemic spreads! 17 people have died suddenly since the end of last year in home health care

The Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19) Epidemic in Japan continues to grow, with at least 122 confirmed cases of sudden death due to deterioration in their condition while in isolation at Home or in residential facilities in Japan last year. The Japanese media “Kyodo News” pointed out that since the end of last year, so far 17 confirmed patients have died suddenly at home or hotels and other residential facilities during convalescence.

According to the Japanese news agency Kyodo, the number of confirmed cases in Japan increased dramatically at the end of last year due to the resurgence of the epidemic, with more than 30,000 people currently convalescing at home and nearly 8,000 people convalescing in residential facilities.

According to statistics, people who died while convalescing in residences other than hospitals came from eight prefectures, including Tochigi, Gunma, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima prefectures. In terms of age stratification, there were four people over 60, three each over 50 and 70, and two over 80, while the age strata of the remaining two were not disclosed; and among the 17 people who died suddenly, there were many patients with diabetes and hypertension, but also those without chronic diseases.
