The Gateway Pundit reports that Pelosi sent a letter to Defense Secretary Miller demanding that attempts to install Trump loyalist Michael Ellis as general counsel of the National Security Agency stop.
The Gateway Pundit says they’re panicking.
Speaker Pelosi sent a letter to Defense Secretary Chris Miller on Monday, according to the report.
Pelosi asked to stop the inauguration of Trump loyalist Michael Ellis as general counsel of the National Security Agency.
Reports say this is odd considering Biden could have fired Ellis after the inauguration.
So, what’s all this about?
The letter, posted on Pelosi’s website
The letter says, “Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent a letter late yesterday to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller demanding an immediate halt to the appointment of unqualified Trump loyalist Michael Ellis as the new General Counsel 72 hours before the start of the new administration The improper process of appointing Michael Ellis as the new general counsel of the National Security Agency.
In his letter, the Speaker wrote, “Public reports indicate that Mr. Ellis, a relatively new law school graduate with a limited résumé, was selected through the intervention of the White House and was chosen over more qualified candidates. In addition, Mr. Ellis reportedly engaged in highly questionable activities that were disqualifying – including the infamous ‘Midnight Rampage’ in 2017, the laundering of intelligence information through Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), and efforts to shield information about President Trump’s July 2019 call with the President of Ukraine.”
“The NSA general counsel, which involves overseeing many of the intelligence community’s lawyers and interacting with the intelligence agencies, is a highly sensitive career position where candidates are selected, based on merit, free from political influence,” Speaker Pelosi continued.” If Mr. Ellis did go through the traditional civil service hiring process, I request a detailed description of that process to understand how someone with his qualifications was selected among other qualified candidates.”
