Benjamin, Chairman of the Rothschild Group, dies

Benjamin de Rothschild, a descendant of one of the world’s several wealthiest families, died of a heart attack at his home in Pregny, Switzerland, on Friday (Jan. 15) at the age of 57.

Benjamin was chairman of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, which was founded in 1953 by his father and named after him. Since 1997, Benjamin has overseen this banking empire.

Edmond de Rothschild Group says it manages assets worth 160 billion euros ($190 billion).

Forbes magazine estimates that Benjamin de Rothschild’s net worth is $1.5 billion. He is a descendant of the Rothschild family (Rothschild family). The Rothschild family has a history of running European banks for nearly 300 years.

Benjamin Rothschild had a passion for finance, sailing, cars and wine, the Edmund Rothschild Group said in a press release announcing his death. He was also a philanthropist, the company said.

His wife, Ariane de Rothschild, was also a banker. He also has four adult daughters.
