Trump and advisers secret meeting to snipe down Republican lawmakers

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Wednesday (13) to pass the 2nd impeachment resolution against President Trump, with 10 Republicans falling in line. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday (15) that Trump discussed with his advisers about the fallen lawmakers, or intended to snipe them in the 2022 midterm elections.

Trump was impeached again and will need to defend himself in a Senate trial, the success of which depends on Republican support for him. The source said he asked his advisers for information on party members who favored his impeachment last time, including who they were, whether they had supported them in the past, and what potential contenders they would have when they ran for re-election two years later.

The White House adviser called on Trump not to use his personal lawyer Giuliani to deal with the impeachment, stressing the need for a better lawyer to defend him according to the facts this time.
