After the incident on Capitol Hill, several social networks banned President Trump‘s posts. The company’s legal team filed court documents last Friday (15) showing that Parler CEO John Matze and his family had received death threats.
The US media reported that Parler sued Amazon for antitrust violations after the company was terminated by Amazon Cloud Services, alleging that its decision was clearly politically motivated. The report cited Parler’s court filing that Parler employees were intimidated, adding that “with the constant barrage of criticism from AWS, Matz had to leave his home and go into hiding with his family who had received death threats.
According to the report, Matz said in legal documents that AWS representatives have been aware of Trump’s consideration of joining Parler since at least October 11 last year, and often asked him about the matter, so he believes that Parler was terminated to block Trump from appearing on any social media platform.
