New York Democratic congressman still diagnosed with infection after two doses of vaccination

The New York state congressman was diagnosed with the disease even after being vaccinated. He is pictured calling for the impeachment of President Trump at an event in 2019.

A New York Democratic congressman was diagnosed with the disease on Thursday (Jan. 14) and is now in quarantine at his home. Worryingly, however, the congressman himself said that he has been not only wearing a mask, getting tested regularly and following vaccination rules, but has also received two doses of the virus vaccine.

Rep. Adriano Espaillat, a Democratic congressman from New York’s 13th Congressional District, was diagnosed with the Chinese Communist virus on Thursday and is currently in quarantine at home, but is still working. Espaillat, 66, had just finished participating in the congressional impeachment debate and vote against President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

At least seven members of Congress from both parties have been diagnosed with the Chinese Communist virus after Congress certified the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6. Three of the diagnosed Democratic lawmakers said they had taken refuge in a room after clashes broke out in Congress and blamed several Republican lawmakers for not wearing masks at the time. However, none of the six Republican lawmakers who were accused of not wearing masks have yet been rumored to have a confirmed diagnosis. It is also uncertain when and where the confirmed congressmen were infected. According to the CDC, nearly 23 million people (22,965,957) have been diagnosed with the CCP virus nationwide, with a total death toll of more than 380,000 (383,351).
