As the new pneumonia epidemic rebounded on the mainland, a netizen posted a short video, saying that more than 100 Azure car owners flew from Shenzhen on Friday (8) on Air China flight number CA4338 to Chengdu, Sichuan province, without masks, singing and dancing on board, without seeing the flight crew stop them.
Many netizens have criticized the passengers for ignoring the epidemic prevention regulations, and Air China responded on Monday (11), saying it was investigating and verifying the incident.
From the Internet video, a group of passengers took off their masks and gathered in the cabin after takeoff. Some passengers picked up guitars and sang to themselves, many passengers swayed their bodies to the melody, and some picked up their cell phones to take pictures, during which no crew member was seen to stop them.
The netizens revealed that the passengers, the captain and the flight attendant were all Azera car owners and members of the car club, who had chartered a plane to Chengdu to attend Azera’s “NIO Day 2020” car launch last Saturday (9).
The incident sparked heated discussions among netizens, some of whom criticized the passengers for not only failing to comply with epidemic prevention and control regulations, but also for seriously compromising flight safety, which should be strictly investigated. Some other netizens denounced “so many people, in case someone carries the virus, it is too terrible”, “these people are quarantined? Don’t harm Chengdu”. So far, neither the two governments nor Azure Auto have responded to the incident.
