On Sunday night (10), Republican U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz said that President Trump has no intention of resigning and will not leave the public stage. He is still the most infectious person in the Republican Party worldwide. The Republican Party needs big changes. First Lady: Disappointing events in Congress call for America to heal as soon as possible.
Drop the stone! Commerce platform Shopify, online transaction payment platform PayPal, and digital payment system Stripe have suspended their services for the Trump campaign.
After the fall! Democrats are working to kick Republican Senators Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson out of the relevant committees and even expel them from the Senate.
Surprise! The Chinese Communist Party newspaper can even be distributed in Congress, and lawmakers demand a ban.
U.S. lawmakers: Trump has no intention of resigning and will not leave the public stage
On Sunday night (10), Republican U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz said on Fox Report Weekend, “I talked to President Trump today. He’s not going to resign and he’s not going to leave the public stage at all. Donald J. Trump remains a loyal patriotic movement and an inspiring leader.”

Gaetz added, “President Trump remains the most infectious and influential Republican in the world. I expect that even though he will leave the White House when his term legally ends in a few days, he will continue to speak out on things that matter to the tens of millions of Americans who voted for him.”
House Democrats are planning to impeach Trump. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told colleagues Sunday night that Democrats will continue to push to bring impeachment to a vote.
Gates said impeachment is unnecessary and divisive, noting that Trump has just nine days left in office.
Trump has supporters in Congress, but is coming under increasing criticism from Republicans. Republican Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) said Sunday that the president “has committed an impeachable offense. Other Republican lawmakers have also criticized him for his words and actions last week.
But Republican Rep. James Comer (R-Texas) said Monday (11) that Trump’s policies “are the future of the Republican Party.
I think we need to become a party that is more representative of blue collar, more representative of workers. We need to remain true to our conservative values, especially our conservative social values. But we need to become a party of unity, we need to become a party of inclusion, we need to attract more minorities to the Republican Party. If we’re going to thrive, we need to be a party that pursues a big tent policy ((meaning a policy that is inclusive of a wide range of political and social views).”
“But be consistent in our conservative philosophy and focus on trying to help working-class, forgotten Americans. Trump’s base is the future of the Republican Party.”
Digital Payment System Stripe Suspends Services for Trump Campaign
The Wall Street Journal quoted sources as saying that digital payment system Stripe has discontinued providing online financial services for the Trump campaign’s website. The move means that the Trump campaign website and online fundraising platform will no longer have a mechanism to process online donations from supporters, effectively cutting off the Trump campaign’s online donation pipeline.
San Francisco-based Stripe handles millions of online credit card transactions for online sellers and e-commerce platform customers, and the Trump campaign website and several pro-Trump online fundraising organizations are Stripe’s clients.
After Election Day, the Trump campaign expanded its fundraising efforts with supporters to prepare funds for a massive lawsuit to overturn the election results. According to media reports, the Trump camp successfully raised more than $200 million in donations for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee between Nov. 3 and Dec. 3, 2020.
Shopify, a multi-channel commerce platform, and PayPal, an online transaction payment platform, have each taken action after the Capitol was overrun by pro-Trump supporters on the 6th.
Paypal last week has shut down a number of pro-Trump organizations to organize the 6th Washington rally online account, Shopify last week also removed the Trump campaign and Trump’s personal brand of online store.
Democrats try to kick Cruz, Hawley and others out of Senate committee
Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is working to kick Republican Senators Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson out of relevant committees and even out of the Senate, CNN reported.
In a statement, Whitehouse wrote that after the congressional riots, “the Senate needs to conduct a security review of what happened and what went wrong.”
He said, “Because Congress is protected by the Department of Justice under the separation of powers, particularly the Speech and Debate Clause, the Senate needs to conduct a major investigation. Because of the huge potential conflict of interest, Senators Cruz, Hawley and Johnson (at a minimum) need to leave all relevant committees reviewing this matter until the investigation into their roles is completed.”
U.S. Lawmakers Ask Pelosi to Ban Congressional Distribution of Chinese Communist Propaganda Newspaper
In a Jan. 8 letter to Pelosi, U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson (D-Calif.) said she received a copy of a Chinese Communist propaganda newspaper in her official office in the House Office Building despite the fact that neither she nor her staff had requested it, writing, “This dangerous propaganda [media] is owned, paid for and written by owned, paid for and written by the Chinese Communist Party.”

“I am appalled that this is happening. I am writing to insist that you, with the control of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, stop the Chinese Communist Party from distributing its state-run publications within our hallowed halls. This offensive garbage should not be automatically distributed to congressional offices in the name of the American taxpayer.”
Although foreign agent laws have barred China Daily employees from the congressional press gallery, the newspaper has found a loophole to access members of Congress.
In addition, China Daily also disseminates information to millions of Americans outside of Congress through inserts in major newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times and Foreign Policy.
Pelosi’s office did not respond to requests for comment.
Fellow U.S. Rep. Jim Banks (R-Okla.) has previously pushed to not distribute the China Daily to members of Congress.
