Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is scheduled to visit Voice of America’s Washington, D.C. headquarters on Monday, Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. U.S. time (Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 4 a.m. GMT) to address all employees of the U.S. Agency for International Media (USAGM). In his remarks, Pompeo is expected to address the importance of U.S. foreign broadcasting in the face of new threats to American values and U.S. interests.
USAGM is comprised of five news organizations: Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, the Cuban Broadcasting Office, Radio Free Asia and the Middle East Radio Network.
Secretary Pompeo will also speak with Voice of America Director Robert Riley. Please note that VOA Chinese will be covering the speech on social media, radio and television.
