Biden says he will fight National Rifle Association during his term

Former Vice President and presidential successor Joe Biden

Biden has pledged to crack down on the National Rifle Association (NRA) during his term in office. The organization is the largest civil rights organization and interest group for gun owners in the United States.

In a tweet Friday (Jan. 8), Biden praised former U.S. Rep. Gabby Gifford (R-Ga.), a gun crime encounter victim, for “continuing to inspire me and millions of others. He wrote, “I pledge to continue to work with you and with (shooting) survivors, families and advocates across the country to defeat the NRA and end widespread gun violence.”

The NRA, an American gun enthusiast with more than 5 million members nationwide, supports the Second Amendment to the U.S. Bill of Rights and believes that the possession of firearms for self-defense is a civil right that every American citizen should enjoy. the NRA is a leading opponent of gun restriction policies in the United States and one of the leading political lobbies.

In its article “Biden’s America,” published late last year, the NRA noted that “the battle to protect the Second Amendment will begin again” and that the group is concerned that people must prepare because Biden’s administration will “begin to centralize the rights of gun owners in America. gun owners’ rights in the United States. We must be prepared for an attack.”

The article notes that during the election, Biden’s and Hejlin’s teams kept their mouths shut about gun control in order to prevent a drop in support, but that both men’s longstanding actions show that they both take extremely radical positions on the issue of gun control.

Prior to the NRA article, Biden’s website had published a plan to end “gun violence,” noting that Biden had helped impose a 10-year restraining order on certain weapons in 1993.

“As president, Joe Biden will once again defeat the NRA,” Biden’s Web site statement said. This shows that Biden may uphold the Obama administration’s position on gun control.
