Trump campaign lawyer Rudy Giuliani is calling for a massive declassification of information to expose the “deep state” before President Donald Trump leaves office on Jan. 20. This comes less than two weeks before President Trump is set to leave office.
“A lot of times I thought he was ready to unravel, and a lot of times I had to assume that the forces of the ‘deep government’ were now stopping him. But now there’s no longer any reason to engage in facial harmony, there’s no reason not to uncover the secret.” Giuliani said on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast.
Giuliani added that President Trump owes these revelations not only to his supporters, but to the rest of America as well.
Giuliani said he didn’t know what the classified information would contain, but he also noted that after “17 years of dealing with classified information, I can almost say I can see what’s being blocked. I think I pretty much know what’s going to be in there.”
“What these classified documents contain is pretty embarrassing, and they can prove that an administration before the Trump administration used fascist tactics to prevent Trump from becoming president, and used explicitly illegal tactics to remove Trump after he became president. Those are the things that are in the classified documents.” Giuliani said.
This is not the first time the president has sought to declassify information for the benefit of the American people.
In a tweet posted Oct. 7, 2020, President Trump said, “I have fully authorized the declassification of all documents related to the largest political crime in American history, the Russia Hoax, in its entirety. Same with Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.”
The classified information may be related to the illegal “Crossfire Hurricane” counterintelligence operation, commonly referred to as the “Russia Hoax,” the Hunter Biden laptop scandal or other forms of corruption. The possibility that this classified information could be released by Trump has made the Washington establishment so impatient to impeach President Trump that it is unwilling to wait even less than two weeks.
If President Trump had uncovered the documents, it would undoubtedly have led to a backlash from the intelligence community to keep such information from the American people, coming up with reasons that could be national security concerns.
But Giuliani said, “So far, a lot of declassification has taken place, and it does not contain any national security information.”
