Kim Jong Un Announces Nuclear Weapons Development at Sensitive Time of U.S. Regime Change

On the eve of Biden’s inauguration, Kim Jong-un declared the development of nuclear weapons to defend against foreign threats and emphasized that the United States is the greatest enemy.

In the 2020 U.S. election, Congress certified Biden’s election amid unprecedented fraud controversy. At this sensitive moment, Kim Jong-un announced that he will continue to strengthen the development of nuclear weapons and claimed that the United States is the “greatest enemy.

On the eve of the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Joe Biden, North Korea held its eighth National Congress of the Workers’ Party, at which North Korean leader Kim Jong Un declared that he would strengthen its military capabilities and continue to promote the development of tactical nuclear weapons and the production of super-large nuclear warheads, NHK reported on Jan. 9.

In response to the U.S. regime change, Biden may take office on Jan. 20. Kim Jong-un said, “No matter who holds power, the reality of the United States and the core of its policy toward North Korea will not change, and the United States is the biggest enemy.”

The report said that the future of Biden after taking office, how will deal with the issue of North Korea’s nuclear weapons, is bound to become Japan, South Korea and other neighboring countries concerned about the topic.

In 2012, North Korea amended its Constitution to declare itself a “nuclear-armed state” for the first time. The UN Security Council has consistently rejected North Korea’s nuclear weapons development and has imposed numerous sanctions on the country.

In 2017, North Korea successfully tested its longest-flying ballistic missile to date. The intercontinental missile traveled 3,700 miles, crossing Japan and crashing into the Pacific Ocean. It was also the year North Korea conducted its most powerful nuclear test and built an arsenal of weapons that could strike the U.S. mainland and its Asian allies.

That same year, President Trump said Kim Jong Un was on a “suicide mission” for himself and his regime. If Kim Jong Un continues to develop nuclear weapons, the U.S. will have no choice but to completely destroy North Korea.

But after Trump announced a meeting with Kim Jong Un in Singapore in June 2018, Kim Jong Un suspended his nuclear tests and ballistic missile test launches. Since then, Trump and Kim Jong Un have met in Vietnam and the Korean Demilitarized Zone, and North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests have essentially ceased.

Now at the time of the U.S. presidential change, Kim Jong-un has broken his silence in a rare instance and clearly expressed his hostility toward the United States. Outsiders believe that if Biden takes power, new variables may emerge in relations with North Korea.
