The number of signatures for the recall of the governor of California exceeds one million.

California’s civic campaign to recall Governor Gavin Newsom has officially surpassed the 1 million signature mark, and Californians can begin the recall process if they collect at least 500,000 valid signatures by March 17.

Under the rules, the “Recall Newsom” grassroots campaign only needs to collect 1,495,709 qualified signatures, but given the duplication of signatures and other circumstances, the goal is to collect an additional 500,000 signatures to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

With thousands of Californians responding and volunteers collecting signatures across the state, Mike Netter, one of the founders of the “Recall Newsom” campaign, said a recall is inevitable.

“Newsom doesn’t care about what Californians want or need, and it’s clear that the governor serves the people, not we the people serve the governor.” He said it is Newsom’s series of policies that have stirred up public discontent, which is why more than a million people have already signed the petition.

Californians are extremely unhappy with Newsom

Many people who support the recall mentioned that Newsom’s constant tax increases, giving welfare to illegal immigrants, and releasing criminals such as felony violence are all endangering Californians and even shutting down businesses, further destroying the state’s economy.

Kira Boranian, a hairdresser who struggled during the epidemic, said, “My livelihood depends on me, and besides myself, there are 24 other stylists. If they don’t work, then they don’t make money. It’s all about making a living, and all livelihoods are essential.”

“My clients come in on their own terms, I don’t force anyone to visit. They walk in and feel as if life is going back to normal.” She says, “So we shouldn’t be afraid. I’m actually under attack. For now, the National Board of Barbering and Cosmetology has temporarily suspended my business license and my cosmetology license. But ultimately, we have to fight, that’s the only way we can overcome, we have to stop living in fear, we have to fight.”

Nate also said of Newsom’s indefinite home health ban, “It’s obvious it’s not working at all isn’t it? The epidemic is getting worse while businesses continue to be forced to close …… It shouldn’t be up to him to decide how California goes, it should be up to the people.”

He also said bluntly that Newsom is a socialist, communist. “That’s exactly what he’s doing, isn’t it? Newsom publicly said ‘government is taking over things, government is stepping in, government is enforcing,’ and that’s what he said when he gave the state order. I just never heard him say ‘I listened to the people and I’m prepared to do this’ or anything like that

. Isn’t that exactly what socialist regimes do, when he always thinks he’s in charge and imposes his ideas and thinks the government is in control?”

Therefore Nate believes that everyone has to focus together at the moment to finish the campaign to remove Newsom. He also reminded that there is only one recall campaign in progress statewide, and people can go to the official website, callgavin2020.com, to follow the latest news.

“To know that we’ve collected so many signatures, there’s no big political money sponsoring our California Patriot League, so this is really the most amazing thing that’s been done by the people, and it’s definitely one of the biggest initiatives in the history of the United States that’s been done by a volunteer effort.” He said.
