The Chinese are stuck with their rice bowls in the hands of others

The people’s food is the sky. Today, let’s talk about the Chinese people being stuck with their rice bowls in other people’s hands. Most of the meat, food and vegetables that Chinese people eat come from foreign sources.

Chinese people like to eat pork, except for pig hair and bones, but the rest of the meat and offal are eaten. According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, even with the severity of African swine fever, the Chinese ate a total of about 544.19 million pigs in 2019. The seed source, however, comes from abroad.

In 1960, Shanghai Film Studio produced the Shao opera movie “Sun Wukong Three Fights the White Bone Spirit”, a masterpiece of the famous Shao opera performer Liu Lingtong (father of Liu Xiaolingtong). Inside the movie, Piggy was still a Chinese pig. But in the 1987 version of “Journey to the West”, Piggy became a foreign pig.

In the farming world, there is a proper noun: meat ratio. It is the amount of feed a pig needs to eat to grow one kilogram of meat. At present, the ratio of British pigs to meat in China is 2~3:1, while the ratio of Chinese pigs to meat is as high as 6:1.

In other words, Chinese pigs eat up a top two but do not love to grow meat, raising a Chinese pig feed enough to raise two British pigs.

So do not eat pork, eat chicken and duck, more than 10 billion chicken and duck are eaten by the Chinese every year. But the fastest growing, fast-growing meat, laying the most eggs of white feather chickens mostly rely on imports, even the Beijing duck selection of duck, but also the global market share of the first British Cherry Valley company.
