President Trump faces the eve of a coup: Wisconsin governor, all U.S. House members ask Pence to impeach Trump

U.S. media outlet National Archives reported that after calling in the National Guard without consulting President Trump, Pence, Nancy Pelosi and General Miller together, multiple elected officials across the country are counting on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and forcibly remove President Trump from office.

“I call on Vice President Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and protect our country,” wrote U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Calif.) from Texas. “Enough is really enough.”

I am calling on Vice President Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment and protect our country.

Enough is enough.

Vermont’s Republican governor also asked President Trump to remove him from office immediately. “Our democratic institutions and republican principles are under attack by the president,” said Gov. Phil Scott (R). “President Trump should resign, or be removed from office by his cabinet or Congress.”

This is a very disturbing time for our nation. what we are seeing today at the U.S. Capitol is not a peaceful protest – it is an unacceptable attack on our democracy. 1/

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul, a Democrat, joined the call for President Trump’s immediate removal from office. “Once Congress has fulfilled its duty to certify the results of the presidential election, it should immediately begin the process to remove Trump from the presidency. Every day Trump has been in office has been a threat to the Republic.”

The National Archives says it’s unclear whether Pence acted earlier, unilaterally, without the president’s permission. It’s also unclear whether Trump’s presidency will survive the night.
