U.S. media outlet Gateway Pundit says President Trump released a video statement Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 6) calling for peace and asking his supporters to go home after storming the Capitol earlier in the day and aborting a joint session of Congress that was certifying electoral votes in favor of Joe Biden.
Twitter blocked the release of this video of Trump, claiming that it risked sparking violence, that no comments, likes, bookmarks or retweets were allowed, and that only quoted tweets were currently allowed. Even so, the video had been viewed more than 6 million times in less than twenty minutes after it was posted at 4:17 p.m.
