Bloomberg reports that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft will visit Taiwan.
Pompeo also expresses solidarity with more than 50 Hong Kong pan-democrats who have been arrested, calling for their immediate release by Hong Kong authorities. He said in an emailed statement that the U.S. would consider imposing sanctions and other restrictions on individuals and entities involved in “attacks on the people of Hong Kong.
